Logging In as Staff

How staff members sign in to the front desk app, which salon they land on, and what they can and can't do once inside.

Signing in

Open the Dashboard (front desk app) at the web address your salon gave you. You'll see a card titled Open your Dashboard that explains you'll be redirected to sign in securely, then brought back here.

Select Sign In →. You're taken to a secure sign-in page to enter your work email — the owner's, or the one your salon added you to the team with — and verify it's you.

Once you're verified, you're brought straight back into the Dashboard. There's no extra salon picker screen: you land directly on the salon your account is tied to — specifically, the first salon linked to your email that has the Dashboard switched on. If you work at more than one such salon, ask your manager for the direct link to the other salon's desk.

If none of the salons linked to your email has the Dashboard feature switched on, you'll see a Dashboard not enabled message instead of the till, telling you to ask the owner to turn it on from the admin portal. If your email isn't linked to any salon at all, you'll see a No salon found message — staff should ask their salon manager to add their email to the team; owners should create a salon in the admin portal. Either screen has a button to open the admin portal, and a link to sign in with a different account.

Signing out — and being signed out

The till is shared by whoever is on shift, so it protects itself. After about 20 minutes with no touches or key presses, a message appears for the last minute — "Signing out in 55s… Tap anywhere to stay signed in" — and then the till signs out. Tap the screen when you see the message and you stay signed in.

Signing out also ends your session with the sign-in service, not just the till screen. That's deliberate: the next person has to sign in as themselves, instead of one tap putting them straight back in as you. It's also why every sale shows who rang it up.

Anything you hadn't finished — a half-built sale, say — is lost when the till signs out, so ring up or clear the sale before you step away.

Who can get in

You'll only be let into a salon's front desk if all of the following are true:

  • You're listed as active staff at that salon (or you're the owner).
  • The salon has the front desk (Dashboard) feature switched on.

This is checked every time you use the app — not just when you sign in. If the owner removes you from the staff list, or marks you as inactive, you're locked out immediately, even if you were already signed in.

What staff can do

As a staff member in the front desk app, you can, depending on what the owner has switched on for your salon:

  • See and manage appointments: view the schedule, book, edit/reschedule, confirm, complete, cancel, or mark a no-show (if appointment management is on)
  • See availability, holidays, and closures, and the services list, staff list, and staff working hours
  • Use the Till / POS screen to ring up sales, and the Invoices screen to look up past sales (if the cashier is on)
  • Take payments — cash, card through an on-screen form, or a physical card reader — and follow up on a card payment (retry a decline or cancel it)
  • Check in members by QR code or member code, sell memberships at the desk, and resend a member's renewal link (if Membership is on for the salon)
  • See the salon's basic details and payment setup status (for example, whether card payments are ready to use)

What staff can't do

The front desk app deliberately leaves out owner-only settings. As staff, you cannot:

  • Change the salon's ownership, name, location, contact details, or business registration details
  • Turn salon features on or off, or change which tools the front desk can use
  • Add, edit, or remove services or staff members
  • Set up or change payment settings, connect a Stripe account, register or remove card readers, or issue refunds
  • Create, edit, or archive membership plans, or cancel a member's subscription
  • Access salon-wide reports, analytics, or other owner-only admin screens

For any of these, ask the owner to make the change in the admin app.
